Visiting the great cities of Europe is like walking through an outdoor museum. The history, art and architecture are like voices from the past that remind us of the great moments of western civilization.

For the past ten years, Scott L. Gibson has spent countless hours walking the streets of Paris, Provence, Prague, Rome, Venice, Florence, Montreal, Nova Scotia, New York City, and Boston while on assignments for corporate clients in the United States and Europe. Today his captivating photographs can be found in both distinguished private collections and on the walls of international corporations.

Scott teaches and lectures on photography in Atlanta where his students have received national and regional recognition. One of Scott's former students, Ryan Wood, who has won numerous photography awards and a photography scholarship to the prestigious Savannah School of Art & Design said, "Gibson's creative skills and his technical knowledge opened up the world of photography for me. It was under his direction that I came to appreciate photography as art."

When Scott is not on assignment or teaching, he is at work on a coffee table book entitled, "The First 100, Images From Around The World."

Scott uses the Nikon D2X for the vivid colors that he captures. For his black and white photographs, he uses a Nikon F100 and Ilford HP Plus, a 400 speed film that he frequently pushes to 600 or 800.

Former war correspondent and two-time Emmy winner Art Harris, who has lived and worked in Paris, calls Gibson's work "... a new and refreshing take on the City of Light. Scott captures the mystery, mystique and charm of a city I know and a city I love. I can't get his photographs out of my mind ... from his work, you would think he'd lived there all of his life. Bravo!"

Much of Scott's work is done during the early morning hours or late in the afternoon, when the sun has set but there is still light in the sky. When recently asked what he enjoyed most about photography, he said, "The solitude of the early morning hours that allows me to capture the soul of a city before it awakens to the call of the 21st century. Photography allows me to share my view of Europe's great cities with so many people."

When asked what he liked least, he quickly answered, "Getting up and going to work at 4:00 in the morning."

Scott lives in Alpharetta, Georgia, with his wife Cheryle and their cat Les Baux, who is named for the medieval village in the south of France.
